A response to crisis, driven by compassion and faith
Where It All Began
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across communities, many families in Uganda were left struggling to survive. Loss of income, food shortages, and limited access to basic care placed vulnerable children, elderly individuals, and low-income families at even greater risk.
In the midst of this crisis, a simple but powerful response began.
Moved by faith and a strong sense of responsibility, Pr. Deus Kananura Kasaati — alongside his wife Pr. Kelen Kananura — answered God’s call. Together with a small group of believers, they began to provide immediate support — sharing food, offering prayer and care, and reaching out to those who had nowhere else to turn.
What started as small acts of obedience and kindness quickly revealed a deeper need. The challenges were not temporary, and neither could the response be.
This moment marked the beginning of what would later become Glorious Future Foundation — a Christ-centered mission rooted in service, dignity, and a calling to stand with the most vulnerable for the glory of God.
Small acts of service that grew into consistent impact
A Humble Beginning
In the early days, the work was simple and deeply personal.
With limited resources but a strong commitment to serve, the team focused on meeting immediate needs within their local community. Food was shared with families facing hunger, children received basic care and support, and elderly individuals who had been overlooked were reached with compassion and dignity.
There were no formal structures, no systems, and no large funding—just a willingness to act and a growing sense of responsibility toward those in need.
As more families came forward and the needs became clearer, what began as occasional outreach gradually turned into consistent support. The community itself became part of the effort, strengthening the foundation of what was being built.
These early experiences shaped the identity of Glorious Future Foundation—grounded in compassion, community, and practical action.
From community response to structured and intentional service
Growing Into a Mission
As the needs within the community continued to grow, so did the responsibility to respond more effectively.
What began as small, compassionate efforts gradually evolved into a more organized and consistent approach to serving vulnerable children, families, and elderly individuals. The team recognized that lasting impact required more than occasional support—it required structure, planning, and long-term commitment.
Programs began to take shape. Support for children’s education became more intentional, food assistance efforts became more regular, and outreach to vulnerable households expanded beyond immediate emergencies.
With each step forward, the vision became clearer: to build an organization that not only responds to urgent needs but also creates sustainable pathways for individuals and communities to thrive.
This phase marked a turning point—where compassion grew into purpose, and service began to take the form of a mission.
Strengthening structure, accountability, and long-term impact
Becoming a Registered Organization
As the work of the Foundation continued to grow, the need for stronger structure, accountability, and sustainability became clear.
In 2023, Glorious Future Foundation was officially registered as a non-governmental organization in Uganda — with more directors on board. This milestone marked a significant step forward, transforming a faith-driven, community-led initiative into a recognized and structured organization with the capacity to serve more effectively across Uganda nationwide.
With formal registration came strengthened governance systems, clearer leadership roles, and improved accountability mechanisms. The Foundation established processes for financial management, program oversight, and transparent reporting to ensure that every resource is used responsibly.
This transition not only enhanced operational efficiency but also built trust with partners, donors, and the communities served—laying a solid foundation for growth, impact, and long-term sustainability.

2020
A Calling Birthed in Crisis
Moved by faith, Pr. Deus and Pr. Kelen Kananura began reaching out with food, prayer and emergency care to vulnerable families, children and elderly individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
2021–2022
Expanding Community Support
Outreach efforts grew steadily, reaching more households with food, basic needs, and care while building strong community relationships.
2023
Formal Registration
Glorious Future Foundation was officially registered as a non-governmental organization in Uganda — with more directors on board — strengthening governance, accountability and operational capacity to serve nationwide.
2024
Strengthening Programs
Structured programs in education support, food assistance, and community care were expanded to reach more vulnerable individuals.
2025 – Present
Sustained Impact & Growth
Monthly support programs and ongoing community initiatives continue to provide consistent care, empowering individuals and strengthening communities across Uganda.
